Barney and Fulmodeston Cricket Club is based in the parish of Fulmodeston and players come from Fakenham and surrounding areas. The team is currently made up of close friends that have been playing cricket with each other since youth, so the team spirit and drive is much stronger than first thought.
We have a very young team with the players average age being 20. Barney Cc currently play in the Mid-Norfolk Sunday Cricket League only. . This year we have had a large number of players wanting to become part of the Barney Army and win their place in the team. But as you know only 11 players can play, But due to great leadership by Aaron Riseborough, every player at Barney CC feels they have played part in the progress of the team this year. We are always looking for new players to join the team, so please feel free to contact Aaron Riseborough for more information. We are also currently looking at possibly starting a Saturday side as well. The Club over the last 12 months has really changed and now I think I speak for everyone that has been involved in Barney Cricket Club over the years, that the club is now at its best. During the end of the 2012 season, all players and people involved in the club, gave their spare time in order to repaint, replenish, repair and improve the ground that home games are played on. Everybody that attends to watch or play comments on the approval to all aspects of Barney Cricket Club. The club has a large history of cricket being played at Barney, and briefly highlighted are some pictures from the good old days. Barney Cc achieved a feat in the 2015 season of being only the 3rd club in Mid Norfolk Sunday cricket league history to win 3 back to back championship titles. This is a huge achievement for a club of Barneys stature to achieve what they have done. Barney further added to there history by achieveing the cup double in 2016 where they won the Norfolk Junior cup and the Hunts County cup. |
